What is a Toolbox Talk?

Toolbox Talks are designed to be short and informative (to the point) and is a presentation to the workforce on a single aspect of health and safety. All of our Toolbox talks are in convenient PDF format so that you can get going as soon as possible and are created to save you time and effort. We will soon be adding more formats available such as Powerpoint and Video. All of our Toolbox Talks are priced as little as £1.20 each (for unlimited downloads!) or take advantage of our TBT Packs.

How to give a Toolbox Talk

Each talk is different and they are never all the same. The more you do the better you will become at them, so its always good to do them often, and practice.

  • Use our PDFs as a guide about how it should go, but always keep the presentation informal and keep your audience engaged.
  • Explain why you are having a Toolbox Talk and outline the importance of the particular subject your are talking about.
  • Make sure you are somewhere where you or your audience can not be distracted.
  • Read through the Toolbox Talk yourself first and familiarise yourself with the contents and the flow of the document.
  • Always wrap-up by covering the important learning points/ key areas of the talk.
  • Make a note of anyone not in attendance who should have been, so you can catch up with them individually

We have over 70 Toolbox Talks available for you to choose from so head over to our TBT area and take a look.
